PendaForm: Our History

To fully appreciate the rich & diverse history of PendaForm, it is first necessary to review the event that brought together two complimentary market leading thermoformers. In late July 2013, Resilience Capital Partners signed a definitive agreement to merge two companies - Penda Corporation and The Fabri-Form Company. The agreement combined the strengths of both organizations by leveraging Penda's global sales network and thermoforming resources with Fabri-Form's custom engineering solutions and manufacturing technologies.

The Fabri-Form Company was founded in 1943 and was a pioneer in the field of thick sheet thermoforming. With an initial focus on the aircraft industry, manufacturing acrylic canopies, the development of styrene as a thermoforming resin led to the invention of the first plastic refrigerator door liners for the General Electric Company. To meet GE's door liner requirements, Fabri-Form built the first fully automated thermoformer and later, the first rotary thermoformer. Another early innovation was the development of military visors for aircraft helmets. Fabri-Form's visors were worn on John Glenn's helmet when he first orbited earth on February 20, 1962 and today can be found on display in the Smithsonian Aeronautical Museum in Washington, D.C.

Penda Corporation was founded in 1975 in Portage, Wisconsin and began with a focus on the automotive industry. By 1983, Penda began manufacturing pickup truck bedliners and soon established itself as an innovative, high quality supplier to both the aftermarket and original equipment markets. As the popularity of pickup trucks soared over the next 10-20 years, Penda grew rapidly and fostered partnerships with the world's leading automotive companies, including Ford, General Motors, Chrysler, Nissan & Toyota.

Over the past 20 years, both Fabri-Form and Penda have invested in state of the art design, manufacturing and quality systems to meet and, in many cases, exceed customer requirements. This has led to numerous industry certifications and customer awards as well as a diversification of product & market participation. Targeting new industrial and consumer markets yielded opportunities in advanced system solutions including heavy truck and commercial vehicles, commercial products including truck accessories and vehicle protection, and material handling where both proprietary products and custom solutions for product packaging and load securement are our specialty.

Today, PendaForm features a network of facilities across the United States & Mexico to service our customers across a wide spectrum of product and markets. We are committed to delivering highly engineered, high quality products that reduce the weight and cost of solutions designed to replace heavy composite, fiberglass, wood and metal products.
